The 219 Boys bless Night Bass with their new ‘Certified’ EP. The title track is indeed a certified banger, featuring Love Rossylo’s verses over an ethereal melody and a textured bass drop. The sweet melodies continue in ‘Senses’, where a shuffling bassline is ushered in by fantasy-provoking synths and sample work, paving the way for ‘Interchange’ - an elegant interplay between beautiful harmonies and dissonant bass drops. To round things off, the boys called upon Lowdown for a ‘Certified’ remix, taking the track into bounce town with his own driving bassline, sealing the EP off on a high note.

PLAYLIST TAKEOVER ALERT! We asked Plastician to take over our Essential Influences Spotify playlist and share some of his influences. As a UKG DJ from Croydon, Plastician started playing pirate radio stations in the late 90’s and quickly became one of the pioneering artists of both dubstep and grime. In 2002 he started his own label Terrorhythm Recordings which continues to release innovative music today. JAXX DA FISHWORKS is back at it again on Night Bass with his new single, ‘100 Percent'. He kicks it off with a fidgety bass number loaded with twisted synths and then on the b-side we have the deep and heavy sounds of ‘In My House’ where a one two punch and catchy vocal samples lead you into a driving, attitude-edged bassline, strongly rounding off the release.
Qlank - Weird Times EP (Out Now)
The unstoppable Qlank lands back on Night Bass with the biggest release he's had with us yet, his ‘Weird Times’ EP. The pensive melodies in ‘Lit’ featuring JC Stormz set a dark resonance for the release with the ominous tones following suit in ‘Dip’ where a menacing beat is joined by enough 808 to leave you shaking into the next track, ‘Naughty’, with Purple Velvet Curtains on the vocals over frantic swells of UKG bass. Next up we got ‘Drunk’, a belligerent bass number with a hefty breakdown that cascades into the alarm-sounding buildup of breakbeat driven ‘The One’ with help from Dread MC on the vocals.

It's time for our Night Bass Freshmen Vol 4 and we’re proud to present a brand-new class of uniquely talented individuals. UKG/Bassline virtuoso MPH joins the Night Bass fam with 'Come Back', kicking things off with a massive dose of bassline and breaks. You may recognize this next name from his smashing set on our Livestream Vol 5, please welcome back Event Horizon as he continues to smash with track 'Reset’. We first saw Papps on AC’s Demo Mix Session Vol 12 and now he graces us with ‘Sauce’, a high-energy number with a bassline that rolls you right into the pitch-shifted drift of ‘Kickstart’ from Bristol-based newcomer Dark Moon. Another Demo Mix Session (Vol 13) find, Ranger Trucco, shines through with ‘Ear Ringing’ - a complex layering of synths alongside crafty vocal samples. Hailing from Ireland, Vibe Factory hits us with ‘Let The Games Begin’ where influences of funk and nostalgic sounds seal off the compilation.

Drinks On Me lands back on Night Bass with his first solo release with us, the ‘Delusion’ EP. A one-two garage step punch starts things off in title track ‘Delusion’, where pitch-shifted vocal samples flow seamlessly over melody-boosted rhythms. The sinister imprint of the 808-foward ‘The Basskeeper’ delivers a club-ready weapon, fully equipped with gassed up vocal samples and a massive syncopated bassline. Up next is a juicy UKG collab with Papps, ‘FTB’, adorned with funky melodies that melt harmoniously into a bubbly, shuffle-worthy tempo. The lovely soundscaping in ‘Walk Away’ collab with Why So Low makes for an addictively groovy roller, strongly rounding off the EP.
